Currently expanded to include Florida, the app provides extensive information about target species, optimal locations, and effective techniques.

The platform benefits from contributions by top fishermen who identify and share prime fishing spots across various regions, encompassing both marine and freshwater environments. Users gain access to detailed satellite imagery and depth charts, facilitating precise planning and decision-making.

Innovatively, Fishbuddy integrates Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Augmented Reality (AR), enabling users to effortlessly log catches. With a single photo capture, the app automatically records species, measurements such as length and weight, and environmental conditions including location and weather. The social aspects allow users to share their catches within an interactive feed, compare personal rankings, and participate in organized or informal competitions.

Compared to its predecessor Fiskher, Fishbuddy introduces a more refined interface and additional functionalities reflecting increased global interest. The name change emphasizes its international scope.
